The Violet Hour

"The Violet Hour" is an acoustic exploration of that fleeting, magical window between day and night. The track translates the visual mood of my photograph, "A Lonely Street at Dusk," taken in Inistioge in Ireland, into sound.

Just as the image captures the sky 'bruising to purple and pink' behind the silhouette of bare branches, the song creates a soundscape of quiet transition. With stripped-back guitar and intimate vocals, it follows the narrative of a solitary walk home, guided only by the amber glow of streetlamps against the deepening twilight. It is a song about the stillness of the evening and the stories held within the stones of an old street.
