A Whole Heap of Hexagons
Had to share this shot I just rediscovered from a trip to the Giant's Causeway last March. A beautiful sunrise, but while the golden light looks warm, it was absolutely bitterly cold standing out there! But honestly? It was completely worth freezing my fingers off just to experience this place with barely anybody else around. It’s rare to get such a clear view of these hexagonal columns without the crowds; I just love how the fading light emphasises the rugged texture and the sheer weirdness of the geology. It felt like having an entire alien landscape all to myself.
