Treetop Watcher

I was wandering through Mount Usher Gardens when I happened to look up and spot this incredible Grey Heron perched high in the branches. It’s not often you get such a clear view of them away from the water's edge! The lighting was great, highlighting the intense detail in its eye and the stunning contrast of those black neck streaks against the soft grey plumage. I like the way its sharp profile cuts against the bright blue sky made for such a cool, graphic composition.
