Green Hills, Gold Skies

The dashboard clock said 3:55 PM, but the sky said it was time for a show. I captured this image on a whim while driving home, proving you don't always need to plan an epic excursion to find beautiful light. The challenge here was balancing that intense burst of sunlight with the dark, grassy bank in the foreground.

In Snapseed, I focused on the 'Ambience' tool to recover some of that lush green colour in the hill without making the image look artificial. It’s a great reminder to keep your eyes peeled during the 'boring' parts of the day—even a simple telegraph wire against a winter sky can look magical with the right backdrop.
