Johnstown Reflections
I took a walk around the grounds of Johnstown Castle recently, and I honestly couldn't ask for better light. There is something truly special about that crisp, golden sunshine hitting the grey stone towers while the rest of the woods are still waking up.
The framing here just felt right, peeking through the trees to see that glorious Gothic Revival architecture reflecting perfectly in the lake. It was so still and the water looked like glass.
Speaking of the grounds, did you know that the gardens here were designed by Daniel Robertson? The story goes that he suffered quite badly from gout, so he directed the planting while being wheeled around in a wheelbarrow, reportedly with a bottle of sherry in hand! Looking at how beautiful the landscape is today, I’d say his methods definitely worked.
It’s such a peaceful spot to clear your head. If you haven't been down to Wexford to see it yet, it’s well worth the trip.
