Dawn Light at the Black Castle

Arriving at the location before the birds are even awake is always a gamble in Ireland, but on this particular morning it paid off. The ruins of the Black Castle sit precariously on the edge of the coast, offering these incredible, jagged stone windows that look out over the sea. I wanted to use that negative space to force the viewer's eye right into the centre of the frame where the sun was crowning the headland.
