The Waterfall Itself

The waterfall is located in a beautiful parkland estate filled with ancient trees such as Beech, Oak, Larch, and Pine, some of which were planted over 200 years ago. It is a popular spot for picnics and family outings, featuring a playground for children and ample space for walking and exploring nature. The area is a haven for wildlife, including the Sika Deer, red squirrels, and a rich variety of bird life like the Chaffinch, Cuckoo, and Raven.

View from Ride Rock (Crone Woods)

This is widely considered the best distant viewpoint for the waterfall. Located on the Maulin Mountain Loop trail, this rocky outcrop offers a direct line of sight across the valley to the waterfall, with the Great Sugar Loaf mountain visible in the background. It is reached via a hike starting from the Crone Woods car park and provides a stunning elevated perspective where you can see the river winding away from the falls.

View from Djouce Woods (Long Hill)

The area around Djouce Woods (Long Hill)Click to open side panel for more information and the L1011 road (often called the "Long Hill") offers easier, often roadside, glimpses of the waterfall from across the valley. This is easier to access if you prefer not to do a full mountain hike, with car parks available along the road. It offers a different angle, viewing the waterfall from the east, often framed by the pine forests of the Djouce Woods.
