Green Corridor
Ahhh, the magic of Devil’s Glen in County Wicklow. It’s almost like a doorway to another world, isn’t it? The way the rock face rises up on either side, creating this secluded corridor, makes you feel incredibly small in the best possible way. The air down here is always cool and damp, which brings me to the absolute stars of the show: the moss and ferns.
This ravine was carved out by meltwater from the Ice Age, creating a steep, shaded microclimate. Because it is sheltered from the wind and holds moisture so well, it creates perfect conditions for a temperate rainforest environment.
