I took a wander around the National Botanic Gardens at Kilmacurragh this morning. Look at how still the water is, perfectly mirroring those magnificent, thick-trunked trees on the bank. It’s the kind of place that makes you just want to stop, take a deep breath, and soak it all in.

Did you know that Kilmacurragh is actually famous for its 19th-century champion trees? The unique microclimate in County Wicklow allowed the original estate owners to grow rare species from all over the world, many of which still stand tall and proud today.
