Spring Colours By The River

Beautiful spring scenes by the River Vartry.

Did you know that these cheerful little spring crocuses have a distinct white stripe running down the centre of their leaves? Also, while they look stunning, they are completely different from the autumn-blooming crocuses that give us the spice saffron. Even without producing expensive spices, their arrival is priceless - a sure sign that the landscape is waking up.
