Tufted Duck At Castletown House

I believe this is a male Tufted Duck, which you can usually spot by that fabulous little crest or 'tuft' on the back of his head and those mesmerising, bright golden-yellow eyes. I saw it the other day at Castletown House in County Kildare.

Did you know that they are actually diving ducks? He completely disappeared under the surface several times to forage for food. It was incredibly peaceful just watching him paddle about, taking in the quiet, relaxing atmosphere of the estate.
