The Rhododendrons Are Blooming!
The rhododendrons are finally blooming at the National Botanic Gardens in Kilmacurragh! It won’t be long now until the walkways are carpeted in the bright pink petals. The magic begins!
Many of the massive rhododendrons you see at Kilmacurragh are incredibly historic. They were actually grown from seeds collected in the Himalayas by the famous botanist Sir Joseph Hooker back in the mid-19th century. So, when you're taking a casual stroll through these brilliant blooms, you're actually walking through a living piece of botanical history. Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever experienced the blooming season here!
