Back in the autumn at Kilmacurragh. While most people visit the National Botanic Gardens there to crane their necks up at the towering conifers or the historic rhododendrons, I found myself doing the opposite.

I spotted this fantastic specimen nestled in the long grass and got into the dirt to capture a "bug's eye view." The texture of the gills underneath the cap is just mesmerising.
