Crocuses at the Waterside
Did you know that crocuses are absolute lifesavers for early-emerging bees? Because they are among the very first flowers to bloom, their pollen and nectar provide a crucial food source when almost nothing else is available. Next time you see them, look closely at their grassy leaves; you'll notice a distinctive silvery-white stripe running down the centre of each one, which actually helps reflect light into the plant.
