Glowing Green in Courtown Woods

I took a stroll through Courtown Woods yesterday. Walking up the ravine side I loved how the sun was lighting up these grass-like leaves.

Interestingly, did you know that many of the "grassy" clumps you see on the forest floor in places like Courtown are often Greater Wood-rush? It’s a hardy native plant that loves the acidic soil of our old woodlands and provides a vital habitat for tiny invertebrates. Whether it's wood-rush or early bluebell leaves, the way the light picks them out makes the whole woods feel like it's waking up.
