The Thunder of Powerscourt

Powerscourt Waterfall in County Wicklow. It’s actually the highest waterfall in Ireland, standing at a massive 121 metres. It has such an interesting history, too - back in 1821, they actually tried to dam the river to create an even more dramatic surge for a visit from King George IV. Luckily, the dam held long enough for him to leave, because when it finally burst, it took the viewing bridge right with it!
