Fly Agaric
Written By Smartphone Photographer
It’s a classic Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria), and while it looks like it belongs to a forest sprite, it actually gets its name from a much more practical history! Traditionally, people used to break its cap into saucers of milk to attract and stun household flies. While they are stunning to photograph and a joy to discover, they are definitely best left for the fairies rather than foraging.
